Heat Exchanger Tubes [ Straight Tubes ]

At Anand Seamless Ltd., We manufacture COLD DRAWN SEAMLESS CARBON STEEL and COLD DRAWN SEAMLESS ALLOY STEEL TUBES AND PIPES as per various International Specifications.

These Heat Exchanger Tubes; as the name suggests are used mainly for Heat Transfer Application. We manufacture Seamless Heat Exchanger Tubes to cater to the more Critical Applications of the Industry.

These HEAT EXCHANGER TUBES mainly find applications in Pressure Vessels, Cryogenic Pressure Vessels, High Pressure Equipment’s, Tube Sheets of Heat Exchangers, Boilers, Air Pre Heater, Finned Tubes, and Air Cooler Tubes etc. They are used in Industries like Refineries, Power Plants, Steel Plants, Chemical Factories, Fertilizer Plants, and Ship Building etc.

These tubes can be manufactured in Straight Lengths or U Bent As per the customer Requirements

Our tubes are manufactured by the Cold Drawn Process (Drawn on Mandrel) to provide the closest dimensional
tolerance and smooth Outside and Inside Finish. Further to achieve the desired Mechanical Properties the tubes are
Heat Treated (Normalized, Stress Relieved, Annealed, and Tempered etc.) as per the Customer/Grade requirement.

Straightening is done on Multiple Roll Straightening Machines to achieve accuracy up 1mm: 1000mm Straightness. Our
stringent Quality checks and Best Packing practices (For Exports Special 4 Layer Packing) ensure that the material
delivered to the customer is of the highest quality and reaches the destination in best condition.

FAQs for Heat Exchanger Tubes

1) What is a Heat Exchanger Tubes?

Heat Exchanger Tubes are Seamless Tubes that are used to transfer heat for the purpose of cooling or heating a medium flowing through it. The heat exchange process is used as a process parameter or to increase efficiency by using heat energy. Industry-wise, it finds application across several industries, including Petroleum Refineries, Fertilizer Plants, Petrochemical Process Plants, Agriculture, Power plant boilers, and more.

2) What Types of Heat Exchanger Tubes Do You Produce?

We, at Anand Seamless Tubes, produce a wide range of Low Carbon Steel Heat Exchanger Tubes and Low Alloy Steel Heat Exchanger Tubes. We can supply these tubes in Straight as well as U bend tubes as per the client requirement.

3) What are the Various Grades of Heat Exchanger Tubes?

We manufacture seamless tubes as per various International Standards like ASTM / ASME / DIN / TEMA / IBR etc. We can supply tubes as per the customized requirements of the clients as well.

4) What is the Manufacturing Process Used for Producing Heat Exchanger Tubes?

The heat exchanger tubes are required to be manufactured to high accuracy to meet the international requirements. We manufacture these tubes by the Cold Drawing process. The ID of the tubes is controlled by an inside mandrel. Hence the process is also referred to as Drawn On Mandrel (Drawn On Mandrel Tubes). To achieve close tolerances consistently we use Tungsten Carbide Tools.

5) Why is heat treatment necessary?

Heat Exchanger Tubes manufactured by the Cold Drawing process undergo a lot of mechanical stress because of the nature of the Cold Working of the process. This causes the tubes to become very hard, making it difficult to use them in the subsequent processes of expansion, bending, welding, etc. This necessitates the need for the tubes to be heat treated to improve the mechanical properties for subsequent processing.

6) What are the Types of Heat Treatment Processes that You Offer?

We carry out various heat treatment processes like Normalizing, Annealing, Tempering, etc. to achieve the desired mechanical properties.

7) What is Bright Annealing and How is it Beneficial?

The heat treatment procedures are carried out in a furnace that is purged with inert and reducing gases like Nitrogen and Hydrogen. Because of the presence of this gasses the tubes annealed are free from scale and have a bright and a smooth surface finish. This superior process eliminates the pickling cleaning process required to remove the scale from Heat Treated tubes. This in turn ensures that the tubes supplied by us are free from exposure to any acids or harmful chemicals thereby increasing the life of the tubes considerably. It also increases the shelf life of the tubes and enhances aesthetics.

8) What is Eddy Current Testing?

The Heat Exchanger Tubes mainly find application as a pressure part, i.e., the fluid flowing through it is at a relatively higher temperature as well as higher pressure. This makes it extremely necessary to ensure that these tubes are leak-free. A non-destructive testing process used for checking the tubes for surface defects and cracks known as Eddy Current Testing. In this process, a magnetic field is created in the coil through which a tube is passed for inspection. If any defect or discontinuity is indicated, and necessary steps can be taken to ensure quality supply.

9) What is Hydro Testing?

Another way of testing the tube is to carry out Hydraulic Pressure testing. In this process, the tubes are pressurized with fluid on the inside surface and held at pressure for a set time. Any fall in pressure or visual leakage would be due to rejection thereby ensuring only the best quality material is supplied. We, at Anand Seamless Tubes, carry out both or either of these tests as per the client requirement.

10) Why Should I Buy Heat Exchanger Tubes from Anand Seamless Ltd.?

Anand seamless Tubes has proved its superior quality time and again. We have been audited and approved by various Inspection Agencies. These include national and international agencies TPI, Refineries, Fabricators, etc. We understand that our Heat Exchanger Tubes play a vital role and take great care right from raw material sourcing to packing and dispatch of the final tubes. We use Non-Chinese sources, mainly leading Indian seamless pipe mills and a few European mills, ensuring they are from a reliable source.
